As a wedding photographer and a fellow bride-to-be, I have seen a TON of Texas wedding venues. If you’ve recently gotten engaged and are starting to research venues, I know that it can be totally overwhelming! But don’t worry, I’ve got you! When my fiancé and I started planning our own wedding, we fell in love with a couple of incredible Texas wedding venues. We were looking for a place with a scenic ceremony location and lots of natural space to explore. Since most of our guests would be coming from out-of-state, we also wanted on-site accommodations so that we could party with our friends & family for more than just one day! There’s so many beautiful places to have an outdoor wedding in Texas, but here are 3 stunning venues that we considered for our own celebration!
1. Contigo Ranch
Perfect for a modern Texas Hill Country Wedding
A Hill Country wedding in Texas is a popular location choice among both native Texans and newcomers alike. But no one does it better than Contigo Ranch! With sweeping hilltop views, this is easily one of the most beautiful Texas wedding venues that I’ve ever seen. Contigo Ranch is located in the town of Fredericksburg, which is known for its wineries and German heritage. The ranch-style property features a modern reception hall, with both indoor and outdoor spaces for your celebrations. My favorite part of the venue is hands-down the ceremony spot on top of the hill. Just imagine saying your vows, overlooking the hill country beauty, as the sun sets behind you!
Contigo Ranch also has these gorgeous cabins and cottages (their bridal suite especially is PERFECT for getting ready photos!) to host your guests. Whether you’re planning a big celebration with all of your friends & family, or an intimate microwedding in Texas, you have to check out Contigo Ranch!
Enchanted Rock
Located less than a 10 minute drive from Contigo Ranch, is a gorgeous park called Enchanted Rock! If you’re having a Hill Country wedding in Texas, this is absolutely a must-see! After a short hike to the top of the rock, you feel like you’re on another planet. Not only should you add this to your wedding weekend itinerary, but it would be the perfect spot for a first look or day-after adventure shoot with your boo!
2. The Vineyard at Florence
The most romantic vineyard to get married at in Texas
While I am a huge wine-lover, I didn’t know that you even could have a vineyard wedding in Texas! That is, until I found The Vineyard at Florence! While places like California are known for their wineries, there’s also wedding venues with similar vibes in Texas! The Vineyard at Florence offers different event spaces, depending on your group size, but my favorite is The Winemaker’s Villa! It’s a gorgeous house that allows you to host an intimate ceremony and an outdoor reception, all at the villa! There’s plenty of on-site accommodations both at the villa, and around the property! Between the swimming pool, on-site spa, and wine tasting in their wine room, there’s so much for you and your guests to do! If you’re looking for a hill country wedding in Texas with an Italian destination wedding feel, then The Vineyard at Florence is definitely the spot for you!
3. Willow House
An epic spot for adventurous brides & grooms
The most iconic spot to have an outdoor wedding in Texas has to be in Big Bend. If you’ve dreamt of getting married surrounded by desert fields and open skies, then you should definitely consider Willow House! Located in Terlingua, right outside of Big Bend National Park, this twelve casita desert retreat is the perfect place to host your microwedding in Texas. With a unique minimal design and the unobstructed views of the Chisos Mountain Range, you and your guests will leave your wedding celebrations feeling reconnected to nature.
You seriously could not go wrong with getting married at any of these Texas wedding venues! Looking for a wedding photographer to capture your celebration at one of these beautiful wedding venues? I’d absolutely love to chat with you. Reach out to me here!
